Safety requirements for welding cables

Welding cables are insulated wires that connect the welding machine and welding tongs (guns), weldments, etc., and should meet the following safety requirements:

1. It has good insulation and conductivity.

2. Easy to operate, the whole can be twisted and bent at will, light and soft.

3. Need to have good resistance to mechanical damage, and other tolerance capabilities.

4. Decide the cable length according to actual needs. Maintain work convenience and voltage stability

5. Select the appropriate cross-sectional area according to the regulations, and refer to the current standard to ensure that the wire does not overheat

6. If the welding cable is used as a whole, there should be no joints in the middle. If it is necessary to use short wires to connect to a long length, the number of connectors shall not exceed 2. When connecting a long cable, the connector should be firmly connected, and the connection should be well insulated.

7. Check the insulation layer regularly every six months

8. Avoid burning the insulating layer due to being close to the heat source, and also avoid other conditions such as rolling wear.
